The objective of the warm-up is to raise total body temperature and muscle temperature to prepare the entire body for vigorous activity.
The warm-up period prepares the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, nervous system and the musculoskeletal system by gradually increasing the demand on those systems so that they are able to accommodate the demands of more strenuous activity.

The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is the most commonly injured ligament of the knee. Every year, there are around 30 cases of ACL injuries for every 100,000 people. If the ACL is torn, surgery is commonly used to reconstruct the damaged ligament. ACL WarmUp is an App we are currently working on for iOs and Android that aims to tackle this problem with the aim of helping to prevent the injury from happening in the first place.
